Police, firefighters and animal-control staff assist two wandering donkeys

Two wandering donkeys were corralled by Bellingham Police and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office during the previous week, according to Bellingham’s September 24 newsletter.

The animals stayed at Fire District 8 before Whatcom Humane Society Animal Control transported them to the society’s farm facility.

The city reported that the owners had been located and the donkeys were expected to return home soon. The newsletter did not say that the animals had already been reunited with their owners.
