Public Utility District No. 1 of Whatcom County (PUD) is replacing a deteriorating water transmission pipeline in western Whatcom County under an emergency declaration the County issued on August 15, 2026. The project will require intermittent closures and traffic restrictions on County roads as work progresses.
Current road closures and restrictions are as follows:
Unick Road: Through traffic is restricted on Unick Road between Elder Road and Barr Road.
